Th Future Isn’t Waiting, Neither Are We

AI really does bring out strong emotions in people.
The anti-AI brigade says:
- It’s using too much energy.
- It’ll take our jobs.
- It has no governance.
- It’s not being used responsibly.
- It has no ethics.
- It’s AI slop. Block this person!
Wow.
And we’re only just getting started.
One thing I’m pretty sure of, many of today’s loudest AI critics will be remembered much like the people who dismissed the internet or personal computers. Every major technology shift has had its sceptics.
So let them stay in their anti-vibe if they want.
The rest of us will keep learning, experimenting, making mistakes, finding what works, and discovering how AI can make us more productive, more informed, and ultimately better at what we do.
That’s where progress happens.
I remember starting my career in computing nearly 50 years ago. A friend asked me, “What do you do all day… press buttons?”
Back then, plenty of people couldn’t imagine why computers would matter.
Today, it’s hard to imagine life without them.
History has a funny way of repeating itself.
